On November 11, 2023, the wonderful city of Romny hosted the VI International Forum of Partnership and Cooperation between the Communities of Lviv and Sumy Regions and the Communities of the European Union, entitled “Strengthening and Restoring the Communities of Ukraine.”
A significant and extraordinary event!
Despite certain obstacles, a thousand kilometers of distance, and risks, the heads of communities in Lviv region met with the heads of sister communities from the neighboring Sumy region.
The city of Romny warmly welcomed the guests. Many thanks to the team of the mayor, Mr. Oleg Stogniy, for the effective organization of the Forum! We discussed issues of cooperation and partnership between the communities of Lviv and Sumy regions, issues of temporarily displaced persons, sanatorium and resort rehabilitation of children from border communities of Sumy region, assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, humanitarian aid and the resettlement of people from the border area who are under constant shelling, and the prospects for cooperation with communities in the European Union. We signed memoranda of cooperation between communities and outlined ambitious plans for the future!
Today, friends, 14 communities in Sumy region have twin communities in Lviv region!
The communities of Sumy and Lviv regions are setting a wonderful example of national unity in the joint movement towards victory and the restoration of communities and Ukraine!
